The King of the Dagbon State, Yaa Naa Abukari II has urged the minority in parliament to always put the development of the country above any other interest.
The King was speaking when the Northern Regional caucus of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament paid a courtesy call on him at the Gbewaa Palace on Wednesday.
Yaa Naa Abukari II advised the NDC MPs to remain united and always make the development of Northern Ghana its priority.
The NDC MPs, led by Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu paid the courtesy call on the Yaa Naa as part of its Eid-ul Adha activities and to commensurate with the king on the demise of his first wife.
Mr Iddrisu was accompanied by MP for Tamale North, Alhassan S Suhuyini, MP for Kumbungu, Dr Hamza Adam, MP for Kpandai, Daniel Nsala, MP for Wulensi, Abukari Dawuni and MP for Savelugu, Iddrisu Wumbenkpang.
Others were MP for Jirapa, Cletus Dapila and former Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, Abu Kasambata and some Constituency Executives of the NDC.
The Yaa Naa, who was elated by the thoughtfulness of the caucus and decorated the minority leader in white smock.
The Northern Regional caucus of the NDC also paid courtesy calls on the Paramount Chief of the Savelugu Traditional Area, Yoo Naa Abdulai Andani and the Paramount Chief of the Mion Traditional Area, Mionlana Abdulai Mahamadu at their palaces in Savelugu and Mion respectively.
