On the advice of the Upper East Regional Security Council, the Minister of Interior imposed a new curfew on Bawku Municipality and its environs.

According to a press release sighted by justicefmonline.com, the new curfew is as a result of some recent security threats in the area.

Following the curfew, which goes into effect on Wednesday, November 24th, all residents are expected to stay indoors from 4 p.m. to 6 a.m. every day.

“Government calls on the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth and the people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of challenges confronting them as well as to use non-violent to channel their energies into ensuring peace” the statement added
