The Commander in Chief of the Economic Fighters League, simply known as Fighters, Ernesto Yeboah has taken a swipe at the NDC for protesting against what the party says is a “March for Justice”.
According to Mr Yeboah, the NDC has no credibility to March for Justice.
In a series of Facebook posts in what appears to be an attempt to water down the NDC’s protest in Accra today, Ernesto Yeboah said “they [NDC] have no credibility to March for Justice”.
The National Youth Wing of the main opposition NDC is leading a protest in Accra today, to protest against what it says is the injustice in the country and the rising police and military brutalities of innocent citizens.
But Mr Yeboah recalled brutalities meted out on protesters under the erstwhile NDC government by state security.
“His name is Justice Adjakuma. He was shot in the eye during a demonstration in 2015. He is dead. His name is Justice but he got no Justice because nothing has happened to those who killed him. Rest In Peace, bro😭” he wrote on Facebook.
However, Mr Yeboah believes the NDC has no moral justification to demonstrate because it has failed to show any commitment to pursuing such matters to their logical conclusions, despite having equal numbers with the ruling party in parliament.
“… The NDC shares the 275 seats in parliament equally with the NPP. Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament is from the NDC. In fact, even Asiedu Nketia who is not a member of Ghana’s Parliament serves on a Committee in Parliament. So what kind of punishment is this?” he quizzed, adding that ” The NDC has no business in the streets”.
