The member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala has handed over an ultramodern clinic to the Changli community in Tamale Metropolis.

The clinic was constructed through the initiative of the MP with funding from the Qatar based Qatar foundation as part of an initiative to bring health care delivery to the doorsteps of the people.

The clinic has a laboratory, a male and female ward, a delivery room, quarantine centre, an outpatient department among other facilities.

It is expected to serve the Changli community Hausa Zongo, Dohinnayili among other surrounding communities.

Speaking at the opening of the clinic on Friday, the Tamale Central MP said the construction of the clinic was in fulfillment of a campaign promise made to residents, prior to the 2020 General Elections.

He said even though the construction was fully funded by the Qatar Foundation, he has himself spent over 100,000 Cedis on providing all the necessary equipment needed by the clinic to become operational.

He assured that the clinic will be operational in the next two weeks, following assurances from the Ghana Health Service and the Health Insurance Authority that nurses will be posted and NHIS accreditation given respectively.

He said similar clinics will be constructed in other communities in the area, starting with Sakasaka where he revealed sod-cutting for commencement of construction will be done in the next two weeks.
