The NDC’s 2020 Vice Presidential Candidate, Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman has paid a courtesy call on the Widows and Orphans Foundation in Tamale as part of her 3 days tour of the Northern Region.
Addressing the widows, Prof Jane said, the purpose of her visit was to share in their grief.
She added that losing a partner is unexplainable experience.
She also urged the widows to keep living in peace and to desist from accusing each other of witchcraft because it takes away the dignity of women.
Professor Jane also helped the widows by donating food stuff and an undisclosed sum to alleviate their plight.
The items donated include several bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, liquid soap, sanitary pads and assorted drinks.
The Widows and Orphans Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Hajia Sirina, thanked Professor Jane and her entourage for the visit and support.
“We appreciate the visit and most especially the support. It has arrived at the right time, and we hope she will remember us always”, Hajia Sirina told Justicefmonline.
