Konkomba Chiefs in the Dagbon Kingdom have reaffirmed their allegiance to Ndan Ya Naa Abukari II as their leader and king.
The delegation, led by the Paramount Chief of the Saboba Traditional Area, Uchabobor-Bowan Mateer John Sakojim also expressed their commitment to a peaceful coexistence among all tribes in the Northern Region.
This comes, following weeks of tensions between Dagombas and Konkombas over alleged plans by the Konkomba community to attack Dagbon and Nanung Kingdoms in the Northern Region.
Last week, the Defence Minister, Dominic Nitiwul led a delegation to the Gbewaa Palace where he reassured the king that National Security had picked up the matter and would ensure it deals with persons who will disrupt the peace and security of the region.
Speaking at the Gbewaa Palace on Sunday, the Saboba Uchabobor said as the traditional mouthpiece of all Konkombas, they were there to inform the king that they had no plans to wage any war on Dagbon.
He said for them, their concern was to wage war against poverty and under development, noting that those were the challenges are seriously threatening the lives of the people.
Yaa Naa Abukari II, on his part, thanked the delegation for their visit and reiterated his call for Dagombas and Konkombas to work together towards eradicating that poverty, diseases, illiteracy and all other factors that threaten the progress of the people, instead of taking up arms.
He indicated that Dagbon Kingdom was not only for Dagombas but for Konkombas, Basaris, Chekosis and Nanumbas, noting that any tribe that had any grievance needs to bring it to the fore for deliberations as to how the grievance can be resolved.
